Homer Knickerbocker Staley Jr., fondly known as "Knick," has been a dedicated real estate professional since 1963, when he first obtained his Real Estate License shortly after returning from a distinguished tour with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. His passion for real estate began even before his official career, as he worked part-time in the industry while employed at IBM. This dual commitment allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the field. In 1993, after a successful 29-year tenure with IBM, Knick retired following company-wide cutbacks and transitioned to real estate full-time, furthering the legacy of the Staley family in the business.
Knick’s contributions to the community and the industry go well beyond his real estate endeavors. From 1991 to 1995, he served as a dedicated member of the Rhinebeck Town Council, helping to shape local policy and foster growth in the region. He also served as the past president of the Columbia-Greene Multiple Listing Service (MLS), an organization that plays a pivotal role in the real estate market in the area. Knick’s community involvement continues today through his position as Secretary/Treasurer of Ferncliff Forest Inc., an organization focused on environmental stewardship and conservation.
Despite his many roles and accomplishments in the real estate world and beyond, Knick’s true dedication lies in his unwavering commitment to his clients. Daniel Staley is a third-generation Realtor® based in Rhinebeck, New York, with 30 years of experience helping clients buy, sell, and manage their homes. Known for his client-first approach, Dan combines deep local knowledge with a commitment to professionalism, integrity, and personalized service. A licensed associate broker since 2000, Dan began his career in 1996 at his family’s firm, Staley Real Estate. He specializes in residential sales, rentals, and property management, and holds advanced designations including Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Certified Probate Specialist (CPS), C2EX (Commitment to Excellence), and At Home With Diversity (AHWD). Dan is deeply involved in real estate leadership at every level. Locally, he serves as Chair of the Dutchess County Association of Realtors® Policy & Bylaws Committee and Finance Committee. At the state level, he is President-Elect of the New York State Association of Realtors®, chairing the Statewide Forms Committee and serving on several key committees guiding statewide policy and strategy. Nationally, he continues as the Federal Political Coordinator for New York’s 18th Congressional District, representing local real estate interests in Washington, D.C.
